Marco Vartanian

Marco Vartanian

Founder & CEO

Marco Vartanian’s life obsession is residential real estate. As a SoCal native, his youth was spent tailing his parents around their income properties in the Los Angeles area. After graduation from USC, Marco began acquiring rental property across SoCal and has never looked back.

Today as CEO & President of Fairgrove Property Management, Marco’s singular focus is assisting everyday property owners manage, lease and maintain their rental investments across Southern California.

In addition to apartment investing, Marco is also recognized as an operational pioneer in the formation of the single-family home rental industry.  As Executive Vice President of Property Management at Invitation Homes from 2012-2018, Marco was instrumental in the company’s rapid growth from 2,000 rental homes to over 82,000 rental homes nationwide.

Marco holds a BS in business administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.  He is guest lecturer at the UC Irvine Center for Real Estate and received their Rising Star Award in 2016.

 

Brian Payne

Brian Payne

CFO & Partner

As CFO, Brian Payne oversees the development and tactical execution of all financial strategies for Fairgrove. He has more than 20 years of real estate experience and possesses a diverse background in acquisitions, development, operations, and finance that includes transactions in excess of $1 billion.

In his role, Brian has institutionalized the client facing accounting and reporting functions providing visibility and transparency throughout the owner experience. He has also leveraged technology to streamline client deliverables while maintaining a strong focus on owner satisfaction and operational excellence.

Prior to joining Fairgrove, Brian worked with The Carlyle Group, LNR Property Corporation and most recently, Buchanan Street Partners, where he was responsible for the acquisition and asset management of equity investment opportunities.

Brian began his career at Ernst and Young, where he earned his CPA designation. Brian graduated cum laude with a BS in accounting from the University of Maryland.

Janette Miles

Janette Miles

Vice President, People Operations

As the VP of People Operations, Janette Miles focuses on developing business partners within each department at Fairgrove Property Management. With more than a decade of multifamily and proptech startup experiences, Janette knows what truly drives and motivates people —and it’s not just mastering the art of emotional intelligence. It’s how well you connect with people you’re trying to help and then communicate your understanding back to them. Her dynamic personality, calm demeanor, contagious energy, and love for the business have made her an asset to the Fairgrove team.

Janette holds a BA in public administration from San Diego State University and is the licensed Broker of Record for Fairgrove PM.

Kevin Pennington

Kevin Pennington

Vice President, Property Operations

For more than 20 years, Kevin Pennington has been dedicated to the property management industry. With experience in rental and HOA management, Kevin brings a well-rounded understanding of the resident experience, and what it means to provide great service to residents with a sense of ownership to his position. In his role, he is responsible for all property management, client transition, and maintenance operations for the company across operating regions. Prior to Fairgrove, Kevin held positions in on-site operations, portfolio management and leadership of portfolio, high-rise and master-planning communities.

A recipient of Fairgrove’s Superior Leadership Award in his first year with the company, Kevin remains focused on growing and developing Fairgrove’s people, creating and implementing improved organizational models, ensuring seamless acquisition integration, and driving superior operations through best practice implementation and resource management.

Kevin holds multiple certifications in the property management industry, and obtained his BA in anthropology from Cal State Long Beach.

Mary Glenn has worked in Property Management for 42 years. As Fairgrove’s Director of Accounting, Mary handles client property accounting, corporate accounting and year end preparation of client financials. Mary’s commitment to Fairgrove was recognized in 2019 when she was honored as “Employee of the Year”.

Korbin Duley

Korbin Duley

Director, Business Development

Korbin Duley is a results-oriented sales and marketing professional with more than 10 years of experience in brokerage, real estate operations, and driving sustainable and scalable business growth.

In his current role, Korbin handles all things marketing and communications for Fairgrove. Through his efforts and programs, he has grown brand awareness, strengthened brand loyalty, and identified new Southern California business opportunities. Under his leadership, Fairgrove has scaled to over 5,000 units in five regions through a combination of organic and acquisition growth. Additionally, Korbin has increased the average units under management from 5 to 15 and helped coordinate the company’s recent rebranding efforts.

Previously, Korbin worked at The Bascom Group, where he assisted with over $1B in multifamily acquisition pursuits. He was also previously served as Partner at Redwood West overseeing the company’s Transaction Specialist Group.

Korbin holds his Bachelor of Business Administration with concentration in entrepreneurship and marketing from Loyola Marymount University, and currently resides in Laguna Beach with his wife and son.

Anthony Velasquez

Anthony Velasquez

Director, Maintenance Operations

Anthony Velasquez is responsible for overseeing maintenance services, construction, and property inspections on behalf of Fairgrove’s clients. With a diverse background in architecture, construction, and design, he has a comprehensive understanding of a home’s mechanics and the inspection process for both private and government settings. He is always eager to learn new technologies, methods, and procedures, and is known by his team as an exceptional collaborator and dynamic team player.

Prior to Fairgrove, Anthony worked at Zillow’s iBuyer platform ZO, where he managed the construction and maintenance of all resale inventory, provided insights and validation for the acquisition team, and assisted with the learning and development of all estimators, evaluators, and renovation field managers.

Anthony holds a BS in architecture from the University of Texas San Antonio and M.Arch from Montana State University.

Ben Lewis

Ben Lewis

Project Manager 

As Fairgrove’s expert project manager, Ben Lewis is tasked with everything related to change management and the implementation of new systems and processes. His extensive experience in managing lease-ups, fire/life safety systems, legal processes and maintenance teams will be critical to helping Fairgrove reach the next level. As a part of his role, Ben enjoys connecting people and processes and helping colleagues to uncover their skills to help them be the best they can be.

Prior to his current role, Ben served as a senior project manager for a tech start-up in the music and entertainment industry. Previously, he spent 15 years in property and asset management with experience in commercial and multifamily properties, single-family homes and student housing. He started his career as a firefighter in San Diego.

Ben holds a BA in public administration with an emphasis in city planning from San Diego State University and is a licensed CA Real Estate Salesperson.

Her strengths include budgeting, staffing, marketing, and resident relations, making her the go-to resource for anything and everything property management at Fairgrove.

Nicki Slade

Regional Director

As one of Fairgrove’s Regional Managers, Nicki Slade is responsible for overseeing the management of a portfolio of over 1,700 properties across San Diego and North Counties. Nicki possesses expertise in assessing performance analytics, overseeing on-site operations for stabilized, value-added and lease-up properties, preparing and analyzing budgets, developing revenue strategies, creating expense control management protocols, and mentoring and training associates. Her 30+ years of property management experience and prior roles as onsite manager, property manager and leasing supervisor, help her to seamlessly execute her position.

Throughout her career, Nicki has been known as a self-starter, and for creative problem solving and a commitment to service excellence for her residents, team, and owners.
